June 6, 2008 - FINANCIAL RELATIONS BOARD WINS PRESTIGIOUS SILVER ANVIL AWARD FOR DRIVING INVESTOR INTEREST IN RESPIRONICS INC.

Investor Relations Effort Supported 41% Stock Price Increase and the Reassertion of Respironics' Market Leadership Among Target Investors

CHICAGO – June 6, 2008 – Financial Relations Board (FRB), one of the nation's leaders in financial communications and investor relations, announced today that it has received the Investor Relations Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America for its work on behalf of Respironics, Inc. Sponsored by PRSA, the Silver Anvil Awards recognize outstanding communications programs incorporating sound research, planning, execution and evaluation.

After a demanding year defending its core sleep market from attack by competitors as well as speculative stock traders, Financial Relations Board conceived and executed a February 2007 Analyst Day to enhance and reinvigorate investor interest in Respironics' growth opportunities. As a result, within six months, Respironics experienced a 40.5% increase in its stock price, an increase of $1.2 billion in market cap and a reduction in positions by short-term investors by 22%. It also set the stage to reassert its market leadership and gained broader, longer-term support for a higher valuation and acquisition by Phillips Electronics approximately one year later.

"Our investor relations program for Respironics was successful because our team understood the market's perception of the company and strategically changed those realities with creative events like an Analyst Day and aggressive outreach to target investors," said Claire A. Koeneman, co-president of FRB. "Working with the team at Respironics, we executed a successful communications program that tangibly helped to grow the company's business."

Added Koeneman, "The Silver Anvils are among the most prestigious awards in the public relations industry. This honor is a testament to the great program and tremendous client-agency relationship that we enjoyed with Respironics."
